Lucky Dube Shot Dead!
South African reggae star Lucky Dube has been shot dead infront of his kids in Johannesburg during an attempted car hijacking.
What a sad day for African music and reggae in general.
Here in Juba, he is loved, I saw him a couple of times in Europe in concert and I loved every show he made.
He will be missed….

This is ridiculously tragic, a very sad day indeed.
WTF!!
NOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Yesterday, Juba mourned Lucky Dube and continue to do in its own way…
All the FM stations played his tunes and read messages by fans. Strange but true, some of the songs they played started to have even deeper meaning now that he is dead. Like “Living in the Crazy World” (lyrics below).
RIP rasta… we’ll continue to spread the message.
Lucky Dube: CRAZY WORLD LYRICS
So far so good we still living today
But we don’t know what tomorrow brings
In this crazy world
People dying like flies every day
You read about it in the news
But you don’t believe it
You’ll only know about it
When the man in the long black coat
Knocks on your door
‘Cause you’re his next victim
As you are living in this
Chorus:
Living in, living in this crazy world (x4)
Leaders starting wars every time they want
Some for their rights,
Some for fun and their own glory letting people die for the wrong that they do
Oh it’s painful come on now little boy
Say your prayers before you sleep
Little boy went down on his knees
And he said
Hey,
I really love your block. As a Juban or Jubian for that matter, it adds a tint of nostalgia, but I love it. Keep them posts coming!
