All Countries except Israel…

Technically speaking, Sudan is in a state of war with Israel! Sudanese passports are stamped “all countries except Israel” and they risk execution if the government learns that they have visited Israel in one form or another.

In the mid 90’s two southern Sudanese were executed after Israel deported them from Israel through Jordon.

Two Sudanese citizens, Nelson Nebio and Joseph Tomba, were reported executed in Khartoum for visiting Israel. The two were deported from Israel to Jordan, who handed them over to the Sudanese authorities.

Because regimes in Khartoum have consistantly feed the citizens with lies and hatred against Jews, most (northern) Sudanese view Israel and Jews “as a bunch of cunning, deceiving, occupying, ruthless, filthy, liars and killers” and above all, the arch-enemy of the Arabs, Islam and thus Sudan.

Speaking about Israel is as such a taboo. The government knows this too well because they created this imaginary enemy in the minds of Sudanese. You will know if you are no long ‘friends’ with the government when they start accusing you of having links with Israel. They accused the late Dr. Garang of getting support from Israel after they failed to defeat the the rebellion in the South; Sadiq El Mahdi for shaking hands with an Israeli, and a faction from Darfur of close links with the enemy- Israel.

But times have changed and some Sudanese are begining to question their very identity, interest and existances in this messy jungle where songs like Arabism, Islam, Africanism and so on are played in ever changing tunes and melodies. A Sudanese-Canadan called Faraji Mustafa has been under fire for establishing a  Sudanese-Israeli Friendship Association.

All Countries except Israel…

Understandably Israel, in its quest to establish a Jewish state for the Jews, seems to have a blanket policy towards Sudan and Sudanese, or refugees in general: ”Sudan is an enemy of Israel, you are Sudanese, so you are not welcome here….” The refugees are imprisoned and, if Egypt or Jordon cooperates, they are then deported and handed over to the Sudanese authorities to face their deaths!

And what was their crime exactly? All countries except Israel…

But like we said, times have changed! Sudanese are suprised and confused that under this sun exist Jews who can opened their homes and offer others unlike them some services….

Times have changed, indeed, and the stamped ink on my passport has already faded alright, but you can still read the words “All countries except Israel…”

    FYI, it’s talked about daily here in Israel, the way that Sudanese refugees are risking everything to race through Sinai to get to the Israeli border out of Egypt. They get here and get medical treatment, lots of them got jobs or get put in jail until their status is decided. There’s also talk of deportation back to Egypt, but since we know that is a death sentence, it’s heavily debated and protested.

    Gaafar, Gaafar, Gaafar….

    Hate, by itself is a disease that will consume you from within until you cure it yourself. You are a typical produce of the brainwashing by Khartoum and other criminals who use Islam to get the ends. Wake up and smell the coffee!

    Is Islam teaching you to hate ALL Israel? Are the Egyptians and the Jordonians who have full diplomatic ties with Israel not muslims? Why are Saudi’s and other muslims not prohibited or executed for links with Israel? What do you have against Israel to the extend you hate Israel more than the Palestinians do?

    I assume you are Sudanese, so think about the inequalities in Sudan first before you look any further. Before Islams takes over the world, it will first divide the Sudan into more than one entity… mark my words.

    @elisheva…

    I trust Israel will handle this issue decently despite past mistakes.

    I have always had the desire to see Israel, and find out for myself what the fuss is all about. The Sudanese hate Israel far more than the Palestinians do.

    When the Arab governments are faced with problems at home, bringing Israel into it is the only way of deflecting the blame and unifying the masses againts a common enemy.

    Gaafar up there is part of a dying breed who will find himself at the end of the queue . . .

    Gaafar is either a good satirist or slightly brainwashed. If the latter, I think he should really read his holy book some day. I don’t know which Quran he read, but the Quran I read has this to say about the Jews and Israel:

    “And [remember] when Moses said to his people: ‘O my people, call in remembrance the favour of God unto you, when he produced prophets among you, made you kings, and gave to you what He had not given to any other among the peoples. O my people, enter the Holy Land which God has assigned unto you, and turn not back ignominiously, for then will ye be overthrown, to your own ruin.’” [Qur'an 5:20-21]

    If Islam is the truth, Israel is here to stay and all attempts to destroy it will end in the same way as any attempt to oppose G-d’s will. Isn’t that ironic? (I always thought that a few of Israel’s victories over invading armies were very close to being miracles.)

    But be that as it may… great blog, found it via Drima’s blog. I agree that Israel should not send the refugees back, and I think the European Union should do something to help.

    The death penalty for Sudanese who visit Israel one way or another is interesting. One would assume that it would be in the Sudanese government’s best interest for Sudanese who have visited Israel to tell their fellow Sudanese first-hand accounts of the evils they have seen.

    Understandably Israel, in its quest to establish a Jewish state for the Jews, seems to have a blanket policy towards Sudan and Sudanese, or refugees in general

    Um, not refugees in general, no. We did take in quite a few Vietnamese and Bosnian refugees, among others. The Bosnian refugees were Muslims, in case you were wondering.

    Sudanese refugees who do make it here are put in prison first because of two reasons. One is because Sudan considers itself an enemy state, and when you add your (previous, admittedly) Islamist connections to organizations like Al-Quaeda, a “better safe than sorry” policy becomes the obvious solution. Once it’s ascertained that the Sudanese who entered Israel are not a security risk, they don’t stay in prison anymore.

    Then we have the second issue, which is that Israel doesn’t have an actual government apparatus to handle refugees. None whatsoever. Everything is being reinvented on the fly, and the Sudanese here often get to know our wonderful bureaucratic system, which often entails being transferred from military to police, from police to municipal council, and from municipal council to G-d knows where.

    Chaos is the name of the game here. Fortunately some food, clothes, and medical care happen along the way, as does work and stable (at least as stable as it gets for a refugee) housing.

    Now, we have the third factor. Egpyt has more Sudanese refugees than our tiny country could ever possibly handle. And our border with Egypt is, ehhh, quite impossible to close right now. Deserts are like that. So if we take in every single Sudanese refugee, more will come. Many more. Many, *many* more.

    Do you see what kind of dilemmas we’re facing here?

    Right now, the policy leaned towards seems to be to accept those refugees who are specifically from Darfur, and transfer the rest to Egypt. The logic here being (I think) that with the conflict in South Sudan over, those who are from there can return to their homes safely should Egypt decide to deport them.

    I really can’t say for sure what will happen, but hopefully no one will die this time simply for wanting to improve his or her life.

    @Roman Kalik,

    Again, not my fault that your fault that your post was filtered as spam.

    Anyway, you said ‘I really can’t say for sure what will happen, but hopefully no one will die this time simply for wanting to improve his or her life.’ … I do not know what you really mean, but most of these refugee did not go to Israel to ‘IMPROVE’ their lives, rather they fled to seek refugee and protection and security but not economic advancement as some would want to believe. Believe you me, once the guns go silent in Darfur, you won’t beleive how many people would want to leave the ‘promised land’ and head back to that place they love so much and call home!

  10. Roman Kalik on

    As I said on Drima’s blog just now, I didn’t mean for it to sound like I was blaming you for the spam filter or anything like that. This happens.

    As for the final part of my previous reply, I was referring to the other Sudanese here (not from Darfur, but from the South), who will most likely be deported back to Egypt. I’m not sure what they’ll face there, if they’ll be deported to Sudan or not etc, but the guns ARE silent in the South.

    Many ” moslims ” like Gaafar either don’t understand the Qoran they RECITE everyday, or they have their heads in the sand. Either way, they live in a non-existent world, which is a creation of their imagination and sense of denial. Every ill in the Arab World is blamed on Israel.

    Yes, the state of Israel, like all other states in the world, has made some mistakes, but no one in their right mind could blame it for everything from the rampant corruption, mismanagement, poor leadership, lack of vision, discord and social degeneration, all ills that have come to charaterise the modern-day Middele East in general, and the Arab and Islamic World in particular. Does the ethnic cleansing taking place in Iraq ring a bell (Sunnis, Shiites, Kurds, non-moslims)?

    Let’s imagine that Islam is now the only religion in the world, would there be no problems? Well, Gaafar, the people of Somalia, Darfur, Algeria, Western Sahara (in Morroco), Afghanistan are predominantly moslim, but look at what other moslims in those countries are doing? The Janjeweed in Darfur are moslims, and so are the children they slaughter, the young women they rape, the men they butcher like sheep! As for Pakistan and Iraq, well, the fire is still burning, and the Sunnis and Shiites are bitterly on each other’s throat, violently cleansing the nation.

    Sudanesereternee says,

    Sudanese are suprised and confused that under this sun exist Jews who can opened their homes and offer others unlike them some services….

    I say,

    First you got to differentiate between the Judaism as a monotheist religion and zionist as a racist regime that is built on the devastation of the Palestinian people after expelling the majority of them and kill and humiliate the rest !!! This racist regime “israel” lives on massacres and treachery !! Yes, all the countries except the devilish “israel” but all the religions including the great religion of Judaism !!!

    I am surprised that there are a lot of jews who are anti-zionist, but you the gullible and the mislead, or brainwashed is pro-israeli !!!

    I live among the jews since i was born and know them perfectly dear. I have read their books and their “thinker” starting from Spinoza, Herzl, Jabutinski and the others. I live among them and know their mentality, racist and devilish one… You cant deny all the massacres that they did and still doing to us starting from the early 1920s up to the last Holocaust of Gaza !!!

    If you found one jew to host you it is because either he is a good human jew, or he has a governmental program to accomplish to recruit Sudanese collaborates !!! Dont you see how they rampage the West Bank armed to teeth and kill the people and burn their fields?

    Dear, I live among them and even had girlfriends of them… some are great, but not the zionist ones, and as you know the whole government is a zionist military one that lives or war and intelligence services of the Shabak and Mossad !!!

    Go back and reread how the zionist established for their racist regime on Palestine theoretically and how they committed the massacres one after an another to rise themselves hi above humans, go back and read that they dont look at you as a full human but goyi same like the Palestinean “beasts” as long as you are not a jew… go back, and read their books, their way of thinking, their practice… dont deffend zionism unknowingly !!

    If you have a problem with the Sudanese government it doesnt mean to collaborate with the devil !!!
    Zionism = israel = Nazism = Fascism
    however
    Judaism = religion = Islam = Christianity.

    Dont be stupid, otherwise they wont accept you in the Shabak or Mossad !!!

    All the best dear Sudanese
